Coming Call Report Changes for Large CUs On Overdraft, NSF Income Reporting: What You Need to Know
We continue to field questions from credit unions about NCUA having amended the Call Report to require large credit unions (in this case meaning more than $1 billion in total assets) to report income from overdraft fees and NSF fees. That reporting requirement begins with the first quarter 2024 Call Report.
"Credit unions are strongly encouraged to review this requirement and assess the degree to which this reporting might pose a reputational risk for the institution," said League Chief Advocacy Officer JT Blau.

Data Governance Training Webinar April 24
This 3-hour webinar will fill knowledge gaps on managing data access, quality, and security by providing 1) a basic foundation for data governance, 2) a framework for success 3) a detailed launch road map. A formal data governance program is already appearing on many regulatory audits and will likely be a mandatory feature of a data program assessment in the next year. The challenge for many credit unions lies in creating a launch plan and having a template for success. The program is scheduled for April 24. League members receive a $100 discount.

League Urging Lawmakers to Avoid Looming Partial Federal Government Shutdown
White House and congressional negotiators agreed Monday evening to fund the Department of Homeland Security along with nearly three-quarters of the federal government — starting a sprint on Capitol Hill to pass the legislation before a government shutdown deadline this weekend.
Your League continues to urge lawmakers to avoid a federal government shutdown, as even partial ones would have an outsized impact on our regional economy. "The continued uncertainty related to funding the federal government causes hardships for both citizens and businesses," notes League Chief Advocacy Officer JT Blau.
