League President/CEO Carrie Hunt Welcomes Opportunity to Advance Industry in Partnership with ‘America’s Credit Unions’
The Credit Union National Association and National Association of Federally Insured Credit Unions yesterday announced that member credit unions of both organizations overwhelmingly approved a merger of the two national trade associations.
The merger of the two organizations will lead to the formation of a new national trade association – America’s Credit Unions – no sooner than January 2024. Plans call for the new trade association to be fully operational by early 2025.
“The coming formation of a new national credit union trade association represents a singular opportunity to leverage the strengths of both CUNA and NAFCU in order to advance our industry,” said League President/CEO Carrie Hunt. “A single national trade association promises dues-paying credit unions operational efficiencies, economy of scale and a unified voice on the advocacy front.”
