Throughout February, Chartway and its charitable arm – the Chartway Promise Foundation – invite credit union members and the public to “Give with All Your Heart” to help make wishes come true for medically fragile children and their families. Beginning February 1 and running through February 29, Chartway Credit Union members can make donations through their Chartway account in a branch, digital banking, or an ITM, while supporters can donate on the Chartway Promise Foundation’s website or via Venmo @ChartwayPromise.
Each donation of $5 or more delivers a Promise Heart to the children’s hospitals in Chartway’s markets: Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk, Virginia, Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital of Utah, and Texas Children’s Hospitalin Houston, Texas. Cayden, a seven-year-old with congenital heart disease, is the face of the campaign. His wish is to visit Legoland in Florida. He and many other Promise Heroes will benefit from the month-long campaign.
"Our effort in February is two-fold,” said Christine Wilson, president of the Chartway Promise Foundation. “We are sending messages of hope to children in the hospital when they need it most and making Cayden and many other medically fragile children’s wishes come true through your generosity.”
As part of the “Give with All Your Heart” campaign, Chartway Promise Foundation is partnering with Make-A-Wish® Greater Virginia to host two public Wish Reveals in February:
Wednesday, February 14 at 3 p.m.
Wish Reveal & Ice Cream Social
Chartway Credit Union - Obici Place

Thursday, February 22 at 7 p.m.

ODU Promise Night at the Arena (ODU vs. App State)
Chartway Arena
4320 Hampton Blvd.
Norfolk, VA 23529
The annual Promise Night at Chartway Arena brings together partner charities, supporters, board members, leaders, team members, and dozens of Promise Heroes assisted through foundation grants and their families. The Wish Reveal at Chartway’s Suffolk Branch is the first of a dozen that will take place at branches across Virginia, Utah, and Texas throughout the year. It’s a wonderful opportunity for Chartway members to see firsthand how their generosity makes an impact.
“The generosity of our members, partners, sponsors, and volunteers will create unforgettable moments for our wish recipients this month and hundreds more children this year,” explained Wayne Foshay, board chair of Chartway Promise Foundation. “We're honored to host these Wish Reveals for our Promise Heroes and their families – bringing joy, hope, and smiles to those who need it most.”
“Research shows that the impact of a wish lasts far beyond the hope and joy a child feels during their wish experience,” said Sheri Lambert, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia. “A wish reveal is an exciting part of the wish journey and helps give kids with critical illnesses the strength to fight far beyond their wish, which is why the support and partnership of Chartway Promise Foundation is so critical.”
Chartway Promise Foundation awarded more than $1,000,000 in grants to partner organizations in 2023 providing 80 wishes, 30 playsets, 2,500 toy bags for medically fragile children, 400 pairs of eyeglasses, 50 fishing trips, 400 field trips for mobility-challenged children, and much more.
