House, Senate Pass Short-Term Bill Averting Government Shutdown Until March
Congress on Thursday passed legislation to keep the federal government open into March, approving the third stopgap spending bill in four months.
Your League has been engaged with federal lawmakers for months as Congress struggles to agree on long-term government funding plans.
"We continue to make the point with lawmakers that a government shutdown will cause serious harm to credit union members, their families, and to credit unions," said League President/CEO Carrie Hunt. "While credit unions across Virginia are always prepared to help impacted members should we face a government shutdown, we believe Congress should do all it can to avoid such a scenario."
This latest bill extends deadlines to March 1 and March 8.
