Join Us for Credit Union Day at the General Assembly: January 18th in Richmond

Credit Union Day at the Virginia General Assembly returns on January 18th, and we need you in Richmond! We're looking for at least 200 credit union champions to join us as we educate state lawmakers about the "Credit Union Difference.” Advocates from all of Virginia’s credit unions, all positions, and all advocacy experience levels are encouraged to join us.

Credit Union Day is our premier state-level advocacy event. We'll share credit unions' service to members and our communities with lawmakers and lobby our Senators and Delegates for support of credit union legislative priorities, such as public deposits.

"Credit Union Day is a unique opportunity to highlight the 'Credit Union Difference' and educate lawmakers about what makes us the best choice for financial services for millions of Virginians."

Here are things to know for Credit Union Day!

• Jan. 11th – We’re hosting an informational webinar on Jan. 11 to cover Credit Union Day logistics, as well as any other legislation of interest to CUs.
• Jan. 18th – Credit Union Day
  • The Credit Union House of Virginia (CUHVA) will be open by 6:30am with coffee and breakfast to fuel our advocates for the day.
  • Meetings will begin around 7:30am and run until roughly 11:30am.
    • (The League will schedule meetings Senate and House Leadership and Senate and House Commerce Committees. If you would like to meet with other members, please reach out to us to help schedule them.)
  • After our meetings we will meet on the steps of the State Capitol to take a group photo.
  • Boxed lunches will be provided at CUHVA for dine-in or to-go.
