League Showcases Credit Union Difference with Federal Advocacy Work
It’s been a busy week of advocacy work at the federal level, with your League working to showcase the ‘Credit Union Difference.’
- League Writes Sens. Warner, Kaine Ahead of Senate Testimony from CFPB's Chopra (In a letter to Sens. Warner and Kaine, we noted the harm being done to credit unions by the CFPB’s one-size-fits-all approach to regulation.
- CUs, League Hold Virtual Meeting with Congressman Connolly (Connolly noted his interest in a bill that boost credit unions’ ability to lend to veteran-owned businesses.)
- With Congress Pushing Toward Holiday Recess, League Engaged with Lawmakers, Watching for Attempts to Advance Harmful Legislation (We’re engaged with lawmakers as Senate and House conferees work to iron out differences in each chamber’s version of the NDAA, with particular focus on bankers’ efforts to win the same treatment as credit unions when it comes to leases for on-base facilities.)
