NCUA Vice Chair Kyle Hauptman, League’s Carrie Hunt Plan Nov. 8 Virtual Event on Regulation, Agency Issues
Credit unions: You’re invited to a special virtual event on Nov. 8 with National Credit Union Administration Vice Chairman Kyle Hauptman and League President/CEO Carrie Hunt.
Join us for a candid conversation on the issues, regulations and challenges the agency is navigating, and their potential impact on credit unions.
Please forward to your League’s CeJae Vtipilson any questions you would like to pose to Vice Chairman Hauptman.
From a League standpoint, we remain engaged with the NCUA Board on a host of issues, including:
- Strategic and budget priorities
- Agency expenditures
- Field-of-membership reforms and enhancements
- Success for credit unions of all sizes
- Flexibility in managing risk (interest rate, credit, liquidity)
- Cybersecurity
- Fraud
- Emerging technologies
- Formation of an advisory council of credit union executives to interact directly with the board and agency
- Development of a metric for measuring the costs borne by credit union members in funding NCUA in relation to the performance and relative success of credit unions within the financial services industry
We’re also likely to see a changing dynamic with the NCUA Board. The confirmation of Tanya Otsuka could possibly come at some point next month, leaving Hauptman the lone Republican on the Board after years of operating with a Democratic Chairman and two Republicans.
