January 31, 2024Peoples Advantage Federal Credit Union (PAFCU) announces its philanthropic extension to the Credit Union, Peoples Advantage Helping Hands (PAHH), the 501(c)3 to serve as the backbone to fill financial gaps that negatively impact historically marginalized community members. As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), PAFCU aims to meet the needs of communities that are often challenged with lower income levels and neglected by mainstream financial services. This extension will allow the credit union to partner with PAHH to expand access to free financial coaches and new loan products designed to build wealth in the community.

January 29, 2024Ndaba Mandela learned much from his legendary grandfather, civil rights leader Nelson Mandela. The younger Mandela will share how he is continuing his grandfather’s legacy on his own terms during an appearance at Norfolk State University on Wednesday, Jan. 31. The event, which begins at 5 p.m. at the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center on the campus of Norfolk State University, serves as the kickoff for NSU’s Black History Month commemoration and is free and open to the public.

President/CEO Jim Nussle re-emphasized the ongoing credit union opposition to interchange legislation (S. 1838/H.R. 3881). He urged lawmakers to watch the videos and hear directly from the business owners, financial services experts, and other stakeholders who support the credit card systems in place and the protections they provide.
